Manufacturer Warranty Repair
-
This means that your TV or appliance is still within the manufacturer's warranty period. The warranty period is typical the first year of the life of the product. Some components such as a washer motor carry up to 10-year manufacturer warranty. The warranty period begins on date of purchase if you bought the product from a retailer or directly from the manufacturer.
-
Also if you bought a house, your warrant period begins on the day the unit is install in the home. Most manufacturer warranty covered both parts and labor cost on most components. Depending on the age of the unit, some warranty may only cover the cost of the part and you are responsible for the cost of the labor to complete the repair.
Non-Warranty Repair
-
There is no manufacture warranty or extended warranty whatsoever. This is also known as “COD” jobs. Depending on the problem or the product, the manufacturer may give you a “One-time warranty extension” for parts and labor or mostly, they will only cover the parts an you are responsible for the labor.
-
If you have no warranty, its best to check with the manufacturer first to see if they will help you out.
Extended Warranty Repair
-
Extended warranty is additional years of protection that you can purchase directly from the manufacturer, from the retailer who sold you the product or from a home warranty service company. Most extended warranty covers the same components as the manufacturer warranty, however; some may not cover everything, so you must understand what you are paying for.
-
Also the manufacture may have a 5-year of 10-year warranty period on the product or some components, so you need to make sure that you are not paying for something that may already be covered by the manufacture.
